Want to Become a Raw Food Expert?

When I first tried a raw food diet, I knew I was onto something.  The way I felt eating only raw food made me feel better than I ever had before!

When I first started a raw food diet, I was in a desperate circumstance.  My skin problem had spun out of control, and I was at my wits end.  I had tried dozens of different medications, even the strongest ones available like Accutane, with no sign of relief.  I suffered daily with the pain my skin was in, and also how it looked.  My confidence plummeted.

How was I to know that I would find my serenity in a book at my local used book store.  I first discovered raw food from David Wolfe.  The book was called Nature’s First Law and I remember it like it was yesterday.  The book was a bit extreme and didn’t really offer much in terms of how the raw food works (at least nothing substantial) but it was my first light bulb moment.

That day I began my raw food journey.  I started by just eating whatever I could find in the house that was raw.  Although that was way better than how I was eating, it wasn’t really the best combination of foods to keep me satisfied and satiated for the day.

Slowly I learned more and more about raw food.  I read different books on the subject and I put together my now daily routine of raw food.

Within a year, my skin was CLEAR!  Wait…what?!

Yes, my skin condition, that I had struggled with for 10 years, was finally GONE!  And that’s not all…

My weight had stabilized too!  I had always been a yo-yo dieter, going from a low weight to a high weight, over and over again.  I could get to my target weight, but I could never stay there.

But now that I was on raw food, my weight stabilized and hasn’t changed since I started (give or take a few pounds).  And the best part about it, is that it’s relatively effortless.

Now I can eat 2000, 3000 calories, whatever I desire, and as long as I stick to my plan, I don’t gain weight and my skin stays clear.

Some other benefits I noticed:

  •  Better sleep
  • Better digestion
  • Less painful, lighter periods
  • Better circulation
  • No more cravings!
  • More energy
  • Ready to go right after a meal (no drowsiness)
  • Less colds
  • Better mood
  • No gas or bloating
  • Clearer mind
  • No body odor
  • Better able to wake up in the morning
  • Clearer voice
  • More joy to my life

And I’m sure there are still some things I am forgetting.

The Science Behind Raw Food

Most raw foodies feel amazing on the diet.  They even manage to work out a decent pattern of eating that they feel happy with.  But not everyone knows why they feel so good.

I notice a lot of misconceptions being spread around in raw food forums and social media groups.  I see people telling others how great they feel, but when asked to explain why raw food makes this happen, they don’t really have the answers.

I also see a lot of bad advice circulating these same circles.  The problem is, we don’t have a lot of information about raw food because it’s kind of an idea that is ahead of its time.  Researchers haven’t done many studies, and the ones that have been done, are not done on properly structured diets most of the time.

Sometimes people will try a raw diet and then they will run into problems.  When they go to the forums for help, they are met with a multitude of different answers as to why they are experiencing their problem, often without any testing or research behind their answers.

Raw Food 101

For the past 10 years, I have been putting together research that supports and explains a raw food diet.  At first I began doing it to solve my own problems and questions about raw food.  But then it became my passion – researching why a raw food diet is the diet I have had the most success on, and how the science can help others to reach their health goals too.

I figured out how to structure a raw food diet to meet all of my nutrient needs.  I also came across some issues with a raw food diet, and then researched how to solve those as well – these include teeth issues, missing nutrients, problems with sugar, and how to get certain things like vitamin D when you don’t live in the tropics.

I put all my findings together into a 8 part course, for anyone who is interested in furthering their raw food knowledge, either to solve their own health problems, or just to improve their current knowledge base and regime.

The course covers topics like:

  1.  How humans have evolved and how raw food is still relevant to the human digestive system
  2. How to heal at a cellular level – hint: it’s not the antioxidants or enzymes!
  3. How raw food contributes to weight loss
  4. Where to get individual nutrients and how to structure a good diet

I also include some materials in the 8th module that you can print and use when buying and making raw food, including some recipes that will help you get rid of cravings and get in more nutrients.

I want everyone to become a raw food expert!  I want this knowledge to become commonplace in society so that everyone can achieve perfect health if they so desire.  I also want to help people who keep falling off the raw wagon due to a missing key piece of information or who struggle with some of the problems you can inevitably encounter on a raw diet.
